Biodiesel performs similar to petroleum diesel while benefiting the environment. Biodiesel, is made from alcohol esters that are processed from the oils of veggies such as soybeans, mustard seeds and rapeseeds.
The regular diesel has components such as sulfur and aromatics. Only diesel engines that have natural rubber parts instead of synthetic rubber parts cannot use biodiesel, but these engines are not as common as the engines that can use the biodiesel. You can provide them the container that they will fill up with the vegetable oil and agree with them when is best to pick it up.
Biodiesel is safer for people to breathe. Even though that using biodiesel is much more than just saving money, this reason alone is a great incentive to do so. You will need to check with the manufacturer of your engine to make sure that it will run on biodiesel with out any problems.
One thing is for sure, first generation biofuels once thought to be the alternative fuel source of the future, have come under increased scrutiny recently. The petrol prices have shot up over the past few years around the world and a common man can feel the pinch in his pockets.
