Not only can the biodiesel be utilized as fuel on its own, it can be interfused with the standard diesel in any ratio. Biodiesel is produced from these feedstocks through a process called transesterification, by reacting the oil with an alcohol and a catalyst.
Most agree that there are potential environmental and health benefits to be realized by biodiesel producers, suppliers, and users. Because it is also a naturally oxygenated fuel and contains very little sulfur and aromatics it is an extremely clean burning fuel. It was first created when scientists started doing research into the possibility of using corn and soybean oils in the production of an alternative fuel source.
All this oil, fat, and grease will need to be processed in a specialized processor which removes any contaminates before it refines the oil into biodiesel fuel. It reduces air pollution along with the associated health risks to the public as well. Higher than that of pure petrodiesel, this excellent lubricating property of biodiesel can greatly contribute to lengthening the life of an engine's fuel injector.
Biodiesel works in any diesel engine with few or no modifications to the engine. Follow the instructions closely and heed all the safety precautions before you begin to process your biodiesel.
