As an alternative fuel, biodiesel would seem to be a very good alternative to fossil based fuels. Biodiesel produces much lesser emissions than normal fuel thereby making it so much safer for the environment.
The conversion to more biofuel is probably inevitable. Many people who produce biodiesel in small processors in their backyards get most of their raw materials from business such as restaurants that produce large amounts of vegetable oil waste. You will need to check with the manufacturer of your engine to make sure that it will run on biodiesel with out any problems.
Initially you should manufacture little amount of oil so that when you become acquainted with the process, you can make biodiesel at home at a larger scale. Because of this property it is easy to make biodiesel at home. And the best part is it can be oil that has already been used and recycled.
It could well be the alternative fuel answer we need to explore as the world's oil supplies begin to dwindle and the cost of energy continues to increase. Biodiesel can be used in its pure form or it may also be blended with petroleum diesel.
